For the 2025 International Woman’s Day we explore the work of Hildegard of Bingen (1098-1179) who is not only considered one of the most important German mystics of the Middle Ages, but also the first German woman physician, whose work also helped lay the foundations for naturopathy and holistic healing practices. She was a mystic, composer, counselor to kings and church leaders, author, scholar, scientist, and herbalist.
We examine Hildegard’s philosophies on healing and why they are still not only relevant in this modern age and how it can be used to enhance our understanding of essential oils and aromatherapy practice.
The Art of Natural Perfumery Master Class (approx. 4 hours) face to face and online

In which I present a four-hour hands-on workshop to launch the long-awaited Certificate of Natural Perfumery course. The most comprehensive natural perfumery course around. There are 8 modules in the course with over 60 hours of study involved plus assignments and major project. Today we will learn some of the basic skills for creating stunning innovative natural perfumes and the face-to-face students will be able to put their skills into practice and create a natural aromatherapy-based perfume.
