Agarwood is the resin impregnated heartwood of the Aquilari species. The resin is secreted by the trees as defence reaction and deposited around the wounds over years following the injury, where the volatile compounds eventually form agarwood.

Spanish sage essential oil has a fresh, camphoraceous, and herbaceous aroma with a woody undertone and a subtle sweet hint of lavender. It has a softer slightly more floral or clean aromatic profile compared to the more pungent common sage. It has been described as a blend of sage, lavender, and rosemary scents.
