In 2013, Carolyn and I took my Dad back to Italy for his 80th birthday to visit the town where he had spent his childhood. It was wonderful to reconnect with my family in Sicily during Easter.
I knew very little about the spectacular Easter processions in Sicily. It was without a doubt the most memorable Easter I have ever experienced. I was deeply moved by the event and was in awe to see how the entire community participated in the Easter parade.
My heart reaches out to people all over the world who participate in such beautiful expressions of their faith and who must now find new ways to connect with their communities during the COVID-19 lockdown.
